The new Fairfield County office space, located in the city of Shelton at 1 Corporate Dr., is located within 10 miles of the fast food company's former headquarters in Milford, the company announced on Monday, Oct. 23.
The new three-floor 90,000 square-foot space is meant to bring improvements for employees and advance the company's "multi-year transformation journey," Subway officials said.
"Connecticut has been at the heart of Subway’s story for nearly 60 years," Chief Executive Officer John Chidsey said, adding, "The strategic relocation of our global dual-headquarters to Shelton will provide employees with a world-class workplace and unlock access to services to help enhance their wellbeing. In addition, it will serve as a showcase of our brand and a welcoming place for guests to visit.”
The opening follows the company's sale to the private equity firm Roark Capital, which was announced in late August.
All Connecticut-based Subway employees have now fully transitioned to the Shelton headquarters.
The second Subway dual-headquarters is located in Miami, Florida, in order to allow for a stronger integration with Independent Purchasing Cooperative, the company's Miami-based franchisee-owned purchasing and supply chain cooperative.
